 Paperwork

Yes we have paperwork but don’t worry, it’s simple.

  • AGREEMENT: This basically states that we will replace your entire roof, all of it’s components, and with certain standards such as like kindness and equal quality. This just means that we will replace exactly what you have or “upgrade” your roof but we will never “downgrade” your roof.

  • SCOPE OF WORK: This one has all the installation details for your roof replacement. This document states what you are hiring us to do do, and what we are not hired to do. Additional details on this are the dollars and cents, payment terms, shingle brand, shingle color, and any special instructions you might have.

Get Photos & Then Get More Photos

We LOVE before & after photos of your house.

A picture really is worth a thousand words. Believe us, we know.

We take the guessing out of the game. We realize that you might not sit outside and stare at your roof all day. We stare at roofs all day but that’s our job.

Not only are we looking for those great photos for your before and after photos, but we also like to showcase all of the hard work we put in while we’re replacing your roof.

We strive for 100% satisfaction so after we’re finished with the job and get those last photos, we’ll share them with you and the world. If you have any questions of concerns what so ever, don’t fear because we’ve got the photos.

 Setting “Real World” Expectations

Over Promise and Under Deliver?
Nope, not here.

We know what you want to hear…

“We’ve never had a single issue while re-roofing anyone’s house before and everything is going to be perfect!”

By better informing homeowners with realistic expectations and real world possibilities, we are able to take a more pro-active approach instead of are-active approach.

NAILS: You’re going to fine one when the roof is done. The typical house in Arkansas requires a contractor to remove and replace about 20,000 nails. That’s a lot of nails! We recommend that the you maintain your lawn right before the job begins. Removing a roof is demolition, we remove the top of your house! The better the conditions of the landscaping, the better job we can do to clean up the nails and debris.

20’ PERIMETER: Rule of Thumb; There should be a clear 20’ path all the way around the entire perimeter of the house. Shingles are heavy, sharp, dirty, covered in tar, and will pretty much destroy anything they touch. If you care about something that is within this 20’ perimeter line, move it or ask us for recommendations or help.

ATTIC: We recommend you cover your eyes, wear protective eyewear, or look away the first time you open your attic door. Every single one of those 20,000 nails protrudes through your roof deck surface and produces a small splinter like piece of debris that will lightly cover everything in your attic. So, when you open that access door for the first time, please be careful! Additionally, if you use your attic for storage, we recommend you cover your items with a sheet of plastic to remain free of the wood debris.

We are filled with expectations and recommendations. We encourage you to ask as many questions as you possible can to help ensure your 100% satisfaction.

 Schedule & Delivery of Materials

Your installation date and material delivery date are usually scheduled at the same time. Any special requests for specific dates and times are noted in the paperwork prior to this step. You will be asked to provide your preference on the location of the materials to be delivered. Please ***NOTE*** that once the materials are delivered, they cannot be moved.

We do not recommend delivering materials several days, or even weeks, prior to your installation date. This can lead to materials becoming damaged by the elements or even missing from criminal activity. Also, these materials can take up a lot of space in your driveway which can become a burden if there for too long.

We do not personally deliver the materials and therefor cannot guarantee any times or dates for delivery. We can make requests all day but ultimately, we’re at the mercy of our shingle distributors (which do a really great job). We purchase our roofing materials from a multitude of local distributors.

 Roof Removal Preparation

Demolition

Removing your roof is no easy task and it can be messy.

We attempt to minimize any and all damages by tarping your property and covering fragile items with wood coverings such as sheets of plywood. We will cover your landscaping the best we can. One thing to note is that if shingles slide off your roof and land on the covered landscaping, we try to remove the heavy shingles quickly. This is because shingles are extremely heavy and can easily warp shrubs and limbs.

We try to protect gutters when necessary. We have several different ways of doing this and use different techniques for different situations. We also install ledger and bracing boards for our ladders.

 Roof Deck Inspection

***IMPORTANT***
HOW CAN YOU INSPECT SOMETHING IF YOU CAN’T SEE IT?

We remove your old roof completely. Your roof is made of a lot of moving parts and if you are replacing your roof, all of those parts should be replaced. It is VERY IMPORTANT to know that your roofer is going to replace everything on your roof.

Some roofers will remove just the shingles. After the shingles are removed and the layer of felt or underlayment is exposed, they simply install the new shingles on top of the old felt or they will install a 2nd layer of roofing felt over the first one. Both of these methods are to reduce install time and save money. Neither of these methods are acceptable or recommended.

Why is it so important to remove the shingles and the felt? Because if you don’t remove the old felt, there’s no way to know what the decking looks like. There is no way for anyone to tell if you have any leaks that need to be repaired or if you have any rotted decking. If we do find rotted decking, we need to know why so that we can repair the leak and prevent it from happening again with your new roof.

After your roof is completely removed, we remove every single imaginable staple and nail. We inspect all of the decking, the flashings, and make any repairs necessary. Once the inspection is complete, we use a blower and thoroughly clean your roof before we start installing your complete roof system.

 New Roof Installation

COMPLETE ROOF SYSTEMS

What is a complete roof system?
Basically, it’s OEM vs an off-brand.

A complete roof system is a roof the only roof eligible for a top of the line enhanced warranty available from the shingle manufacturer. Every shingle comes with a standard warranty but by using ALL of the roofing products recommended from the manufacturer, all of the small print goes away.

When we install a complete roof system, we install all of the required brand name components that go along with that roof system. Each shingle manufacturer has different requirements for their full system warranty and each roof that we install meets or exceeds those requirements.

Some roofing contractors will use a brand name shingle such as CertainTeed, Atlas, or Owens Corning, but the shingle itself is the only brand name component. Everything else is made up of off-brand materials that cost significantly less and do not meet the same level of performance as the OEM materials recommended.
